Tosh Tour on Ice sizzles this summer

Daniel Tosh isn’t sweatin’ the economic downturn. He’s making lemons into lemonade and giving the sweaty, huddled masses something to laugh about with his massive summer outing, dubbed Tosh Tour on Ice.

Although his Comedy Central show, Tosh.O, is crazy successful, and he’s tried his hand at acting, including an appearance in the flop The Love Guru, Tosh is a stand up comedian at heart. In a recent online interview with Phillyburbs.com, he quipped, “I don’t know what else I’m qualified to do.” When he compares it to acting, he notes, “Acting is fine, but I like stand-up since I don’t have to wait around for eight hours to shoot a scene.”

Tosh tweets about Giraldo’s passing

The news of the untimely passing of comedian Greg Giraldo has stunned the comedy world, with everyone from Lisa Lampanelli to Bob Saget to Aziz Ansari expressing their sadness and sending their condolences, especially via Twitter.

Daniel Tosh is a prolific Twitter user and turned to the social network to send his regrets. He joined his peers by paying tribute to Giraldo with a short but sweet tweet: “Sorry to hear about the passing of Greg Giraldo. Thank you for everything.”

Giraldo died Wednesday after being hospitalized last weekend from a wild party in his hotel room in East Brunswick, NJ, where he was performing several nights at the local comedy club, The Stress Factory. The cause was apparently an overdose of prescription drugs, which is ironic considering Giraldo has been a recovering alcoholic since 2005. The one-time judge on “Last Comic Standing” and frequent Comedy Central roaster was 44.

Daniel Tosh kicks off 60-city U.S. tour

Since Tosh.0 has ended its season, the Comedy Central host has some free time on his hands, and his fans are benefiting from it!

Daniel Tosh is just two days away from kicking off a 60-city U.S. tour that runs from Sept. 24 at the TCC Music Hall in Tuscon through Nov. 22 at the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts in Santa Rosa, Calif.

Along the way, he’s also got stops at the Carpenter Center in Richmond on Nov. 3; the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. on Nov. 5; and Baltimore’s Lyric Opera House on Nov. 6.

He’s added a second show at a handful of his tour stops, including the first night in Tuscon, Phoenix’s Dodge Theatre on Sept. 25; Dallas’ Majestic Theatre on Sept. 30; Austin’s Bass Hall on Oct. 1; Houston’s Verizon Wireless Theatre on Oct. 2; St. Louis’ Pageant Theatre on Oct. 6 and more!
